Pollet Khe Khekhufi, famously known in the business industry, Pollet Nakana is a young entrepreneur originally from bolobedu. Born in June 16th 198…well in her defence, a woman never tells her age but she is old enough. Like most children in the villages, Pollet was raised by a single parent and yet never made it an excuse to stop following her dreams.
Pollet attended her primary in Shotong Primary School until and then move to Mokwasele where she did her Grade 4 and 5. She then went on to Maolwe High School, “That’s where my passion for entertainment started, I was a Latin dancer.” Pollet participated in multiple activities at during her high school periods, where she also did dances like Halts, Jive and the classic Chacha dance.
The co-founder of Bolobedu Get Together (BGT) and a mother to twins studied Road and Transport Management with the University of Johannesburg, New Manager’s Leadership with the Stellenbosch University, few payroll and HR benchmark advanced certificate. “I have 8+ years experience in Human Resources and Payroll. I am currently employed by the City of Johannesburg as an Ambassador of the City where we render Service Delivery to the community”.
Pollet has been hosting BGT for 11 years now along with her fellow partners. Bolobedu Get Together has given most local artists an opportunity to perform in a bigger stage since the beginning. Bolobedu Get Together is a yearly event hosted in Kgapane stadium, attracting locals and neighbouring towns to the astounding, vibrant event.
“SALARY ALONE IS NEVER ENOUGH” – Pollet Nakana
The Modubung born entrepreneur also hosts monthly events called Fariki Leshako in Ebony Park, Gauteng province, where they give upcoming artists and MCs to promote their music and grow their MC skills. It is clear Pollet’s passion is uplifting as manly artists as possible, a selfless entrepreneur who builds her brand in people’s hearts and memories.
Like all entrepreneurs, Pollet Khe Khekhufi also met some challenges in her entrepreneur journey, “as a business woman, it is hard to get funding from both private and public sectors.
“My advice to young women is, never listen to someone who has never done anything tell you, you can’t do it.” Pollet Nakana added with these wise words to all young and old, black or white, man or woman, “it’s the 21st century, salary alone is never enough, try to have a side hustle.”
